Our local Rotary Club president, John Tornes,
initiated our meeting and noted the generous grant from
The Rotary International Foundation
awarded to us in support of our local project: The construction of raised garden beds at Stockstill House.
We were honored by a visit from Helen Abe,
Assistant District Governor, and founder of the
Rotary Club of San Francisco Chinatown, who was apprised
of the club's previous activities in improving the garden beds at Walnut Place.
Adding to the extraordinary program for the morning,
Steve Kinsey, Marin County Board President and
District 4 Supervisor
reviewed the items under discussion by the County Board.
In addition to noting some late developments at
The Coastal Planning Commission, Mr Kinsey assured the mostly
West Marin audience, that work on the repaving of Sir Francis Drake highway through the
Samuel Taylor State Park
would begin this summer.
